Turkey Run Wednesday 16th December

Turkey runOn Wednesday 16th December the D.I.T sports and recreation service are running a sponsored 2km Fun run, walk or crawl in aid of the Glen of Imaal mountain rescue team. This event takes place in Grangegorman sports grounds which is less than a mile from DIT Bolton street and less than 2 miles from DIT Aungier street.

If you are a student or work in DIT then you are more than welcome to come along and raise some much needed cash for the Glen of Imaal rescue team. Just arrive on the day at 12 pm. There are prizes galore and if you would like more information on this event contact Herbie on 087-224 5507

Pager Appeal

To alert as many members as possible at the beginning of an incident the team uses the Eirpage paging system as well as mobile phone texting. While mobile phone coverage is excellent in urban and most rural areas, we are still dependant on pagers in the remote mountainous areas to get that important message through. Unfortunately, because of the reduced use of paging in the comercial world, paging receivers are becoming expensive and hard to get. The Team is in urgent need for your unused Motorola MemoExpress Pagers. If you have any sitting around in office drawers etc. they may be of use to us.
