Christmas Candlelight Concert 09

CandlelightOn Saturday 5th December at 7.00pm, The Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team will host their 4th Christmas by Candlelight Fundraising Concert in the historic Clara Vale church, in association with the award winning Choir 'Cantando'. This festive event, which has been a sell-out success in the past three years is bound to give concert goers a ‘feel good’ boost during these times of ‘doom and gloom’.

Based around the sounds of Christmas, the concert will be performed by the award winning choir, 'Cantando' directed by Orla Barry. The songs will range from choral pieces, traditional carols to sing along favourites all performed in candle light to give a truly memorable festive atmosphere.

Warming mulled wine is available from 7.00pm with the concert itself starting at 7.30pm sharp.  Due to the intimate nature of the venue there are only a limited number of tickets available at €25.00 each.

For tickets or further information contact  the Friends of the Glen team (Fog) on  087 6347286 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

The Glen team is a completely voluntary organisation and all funds raised will be used to support ongoing work of the team.  Celebrating their 26th Anniversary this year, it is estimated that these volunteers have been involved in 1,250 rescues!

How you can help

All team members give their time on a voluntary basis, and we rely on the generosity of the public for our operations. To make a donation from any bank just use back account number 59244771, sort code 90-65-07. Our registered charity number is CHY.3950.

Pager Appeal

To alert as many members as possible at the beginning of an incident the team uses the Eirpage paging system as well as mobile phone texting. While mobile phone coverage is excellent in urban and most rural areas, we are still dependant on pagers in the remote mountainous areas to get that important message through. Unfortunately, because of the reduced use of paging in the comercial world, paging receivers are becoming expensive and hard to get. The Team is in urgent need for your unused Motorola MemoExpress Pagers. If you have any sitting around in office drawers etc. they may be of use to us. Please contact the Communications Officer at noledaly@gmail.com  if you would like to donate them to the team.
